This Thursday marks T-Level Thursday, a national event recognising the value of T-Levels and the employers who support them through meaningful industry placements.
At Cotswold Doors Ltd, we’re proud to be playing an active role in helping young people gain real workplace experience — and we see this week as a perfect opportunity to reflect on our growing commitment to skills development within our industry.
What Are T-Levels?
T-Levels are two-year technical qualifications introduced by the UK government, designed to prepare students for skilled employment.
They combine:
Classroom learning
Hands-on industry placements (a minimum of 315 hours)
Real experience with employers in relevant sectors
Often described as the technical equivalent of three A-Levels, T-Levels are helping bridge the gap between education and the workplace.
Cotswold Doors’ Commitment to T-Level Placements
Over the past few years, Cotswold Doors has welcomed a total of six T-Level students into the business.
We believe that offering these placements is about more than meeting a requirement — it’s about investing in the future of our workforce and supporting young people as they begin their careers in business, digital, finance, and the wider construction supply chain.
A Real Success Story: From First Placement to Full-Time Role
Our first ever T-Level placement student successfully completed their industry hours and has since progressed into a full-time role within the company.
That student was part of our Business Management and Administration pathway — and their journey shows exactly what T-Levels are designed to achieve: creating genuine career routes from education into skilled employment.
We’re proud that our very first placement led directly to a long-term role within the business, highlighting the value of giving students meaningful opportunities early on.
Welcoming Five New Students Since Late 2025
Since late 2025, we’ve been excited to welcome five new T-Level students, who have recently started their placements with us across a range of departments.
Our current T-Level students include:
2x Business Management & Administration students
2x Digital students
1x Accounts student
Each of them is gaining hands-on experience within a real working environment, contributing to the day-to-day running of the business while developing skills that will support their future careers.
Their placements involve exposure to areas such as:
Office operations and customer support
Digital systems and business technology
Finance and accounts processes
Real workplace communication and teamwork
Why It Matters
T-Level placements bring real value on both sides:
For students
Workplace confidence
Practical, transferable skills
A clearer route into employment
For employers
Fresh perspectives
Early access to emerging talent
Stronger links between education and industry
At Cotswold Doors, we see this as an important part of building a skilled and sustainable future for our sector.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate T-Level Thursday, we want to thank the students who have joined us so far, and the teams who have supported them throughout their placements.
We’re proud to be helping young people take their first steps into the industry — and we hope other businesses will consider getting involved too.
