How We Manufacture
How We Manufacture
At Cotswold Doors, we prioritise quality, precision, and compliance in every step of our manufacturing process. All raw materials used in our products are sourced exclusively from an approved and audited supply chain under the strict guidelines of our ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System. Our manufacturing processes align with Certifire and Q-Mark fire certification standards, ensuring safety and reliability in every product.

Door Leaf Production
Door leaves are either manufactured in-house or sourced to meet your exact specifications. Based on your requirements, they can be machined for hinges, ironmongery, intumescent seals, and acoustic seals to ensure a perfect fit and functionality.

Door Frame Production
Frame components are finished to the customer’s specification, then carefully cut to length, trenched, drilled, and fitted with intumescent strips if required. Ironmongery recesses and lock keeps are added as needed.
Door stops can be permanently fixed or supplied as loose-pinned stops, allowing for on-site fitting after installation and painting. However, due to potential risks during transit, we recommend an alternative method where short, disposable door stops are fitted temporarily. These indicate the correct location for permanent stops, preventing the door leaf from falling through the frame during transit. Permanent stops are supplied separately for on-site fitting, and the method will be agreed upon prior to manufacturing.
Frames or screens are assembled unless the components are to be delivered in parts or kit form. Completed frames are then handed over to the door hanging team.

Hanging the Doorset
Our skilled door hanging team ensures that the door leaf is perfectly hung in its frame. They meticulously check the operation of the door, including opening, closing, locking, and unlocking mechanisms. The gaps between the frame and the door leaf are inspected to confirm they meet specified dimensions. Once the doorset assembly is verified for quality, it is securely packed and palletised for delivery.

Labelling and Traceability
As accredited members of BWF "Certifire" and BM TRADA’s "Q-Mark" fire protection schemes, we label materials supplied under these schemes with information about the fire rating, manufacturer, and traceability. These labels and plugs must never be removed. For added convenience, we also include an additional label detailing the manufacturer, customer, internal order references, and site location to assist with on-site distribution.
By maintaining rigorous standards throughout the manufacturing process, we ensure that every product we produce meets the highest quality and safety requirements.
